Kings Worthy Primary School

School Meals

Hot meals are cooked on the premises; the children have a choice between a meat or vegetarian option. During the Summer term a picnic bag option is available. Meals must be pre booked at least the day before hand via the SCOpay app or website.  This enables Mrs Stonier, our cook, to plan the quantities required more accurately and also ensure the pupils get a meal of their choice. A free school meal will be provided for children in YR, 1 and 2 if you wish them to have one. Meals are provided by HC3S; the menu is changed after Easter and October half term every year and is nut free.

The cost of school meals for pupils in KS2 is £3.00 per day.  See below for current Menus.

Please ensure meals are paid for in advance via Scopay, our online system which can also be used for paying for trips and events. If you need to set up an account for your child/ren, please request an online code to set up an account via a request the office staff. Alternatively, children can bring a packed lunch to eat at lunch time. If your child is bringing a packed lunch, please indicate this with a 'C' so that we know your child has a lunch from home and won't require a school lunch.

At playtime, the children are able to eat a healthy mid-morning snack. The Government provides funding for children in Reception, Year 1 and 2 to have a piece of fruit or vegetable daily. Parents of children in older year groups are asked to provide their child with a piece of fruit or vegetable from home each day.

Are you eligible for free school meals?

The Government issues extra funding to schools to help children from lower income families do their very best. This funding is called ‘Pupil Premium’.   For every child registered, Kings Worthy Primary School receives funding which enables us to provide additional resources, for example, extra one-to-one tuition, new equipment and materials for pupils or provide extra classroom support. If you are registered for Free School Meals you could also get help with costs to support your child’s education and achievement. For example, the pupil premium can help fund the cost of school trips, extra-curricular activities and books.  Although children in years R, 1 & 2 are eligible for universal infant free school meals (UIFSM), they may also be eligible for 'free school meals (FSM).  If eligible, free school meals allows a free school meal throughout their primary and secondary education.

Please register to make sure your child and others in their class and the school don’t miss out.  No one will know you have registered and it will not affect any other benefits you are claiming.
